Shure UA830USTV UHF In-Line Amplifier 470-698 MHz

• The Shure UA830USTV is an in-line UHF signal amplifier for use with Shure wireless microphone systems.  The UA830 works within a 470-698 MHz frequency range, and is designed to boost the RF signal when using remote antennas with longer cable runs.  Shure recommends using UA820 1/2 wave antennas to get around a +3 dB signal increase over 1/4 wave antennas, and UA802/UA825/UA850/UA8100 50 ohm low loss antenna cable along with the UA830.

Will the Shure UA830USTV work if DC power is not supplied to the amplifier?

The short anwer is no.  The UA830USTV does require 12V DC power over the connecting coaxial cable in order to operate.  This power is supplied naturally via UHF-R and ULX wireless receivers.  As a workaround for SLX4 and BLX4R wireless receivers that do not supply this DC power on their own, SLX and BLX4R receivers can be routed through an antenna distribution unit such as the Shure UA844SWB or UA845SWB which does supply power to the UA830.

Additionally, it is also now possible to provide DC power to the UA830USTV via the UABIAST when using SLX4 and BLX4R wireless receivers.
